What is Christina Gourkani’s ethnicity? The model’s Middle Eastern heritage

Christina Gourkani earned fame and fortune for looking like Kim Kardashian. Gourkani suffered a fatal heart attack while recovering from plastic surgery on 20th April 2023. “We were informed that her health and wellbeing had continued to decline in a downward spiral after suffering a cardiac arrest,” her family writes on a GoFundMe petition. 

Christina Gourkani grew up in an Iranian-American family

Christina Ashten Gourkani was born on 22nd October 1988. She was born in the United States, but her parents hail from Iran. 

Gourkani shared nothing about her family on social media. Her uploads were mostly modeling shots or promotional material. Therefore, the identities of her family members are unclear. 

The GoFundMe petition to raise money for Gourkani’s farewell was uploaded by M. Gourkani, a member of the model’s family. “It is with deep sorrow and an immensely heavy broken heart that we have to share the most shattering, unfortunate and unexpected passing of our beautiful beloved daughter and sister Christina Ashten Gourkani,” it reads.

The petition states that authorities are investigating Gourkani’s death as ‘a homicide related to medical procedure’. It thanks people for their kind words and asks them to help fund Gourkani’s farewell:

“We ask in this time of mourning our loss & disbelief that people can come together to help our family make it through this, when there is not enough strength. We are grateful for the support that you are able to provide to our family as we lay Christina Ashten Gourkani to eternal peace.”
