Is Hill Harper gay? The actor’s sexuality discussed
Following years of participation in Democratic Party politics, Hill Harper announced his bid for U.S. Senate in the 2024 election in Michigan. “As a small business owner, cancer survivor and single dad, I’ve never backed down from a challenge,” Harper tweeted. “I’m doing this because our system will never change if we keep electing the same career politicians.”
Hill Harper is not gay; he has dated Taraji P. Henson and Regina Hall
Hill Harper is not gay. He has previously dated women, including Taraji P. Henson and Regina Hall.
In an episode of Unsung Hollywood, Harper discussed why he didn’t marry Taraji or Regina. He described Regina as beautiful and funny and said he had a wonderful relationship with Taraji. The actor added:
“Taraji Henson and I were in a relationship for about a year and a half, two years. Wonderful relationship. Just because you’re in a healthy, great relationship that ends doesn’t mean it wasn’t successful or it was a failure. Not all relationships are meant to end in marriage.”
Harper also stated that he had a fear of commitment. “Absolutely I’ve had a fear of commitment,” Harper said. “No question. Would it be born out of the fact that my parents were divorced? Probably.” Harper was last linked with pianist Chloe Flower.
Harper said despite his commitment issues, he always wanted to have kids. He told People that he was waiting to get married before having children. However, Harper’s perspective changed when a friend talked to him about adoption. Harper spoke to an adoption attorney, who connected him to a mother looking for adoptive parents for her son.
The actor was present when his son, Pierce, was born in December 2015. “I was so scared,” Harper told People. “I think because it was such a huge decision. But looking back now, all the fears I had were ridiculously small compared to the joy of having him in my life and having the opportunity to be a father.”
Harper was in a relationship when he adopted Pierce, but the identity of his then-partner is unclear. Currently, Harper is single. The Senate hopeful dedicated the following tweet to his son: “Pierce, this campaign is going to be tough for us. But fighting for what you believe in is worth it, especially because I’m fighting for you. I’m running for Senate because I want to build a safer, better world for you. I hope to make you proud.”
