Lemons founded the choir after a group of singers came together for a music event created by Kevin’s father, Wilbert Lemons. The award-nominated group had over 100 members in Atlanta and other regions across the USA. The announcement from the Lemons Family read:

Kevin Lemons reportedly passed away due to a heart attack

Reports allege that Kevin Lemons died due to a heart attack. Journalist Tonya Rivens tweeted: “The family has confirmed that 45-year-old Gospel Artist Kevin Lemons has died. It’s being reported that Lemons, of Atlanta, died of a heart attack.”

Lemons’ sudden death has shocked the gospel community. Condolence messages have flooded in, paying tribute to a man who wanted to popularize choir music. Vincent Bohanan, Lemons’ HezHouse Entertainment labelmate, said:

“I am in total disbelief concerning the untimely transition of my labelmate Kevin Lemons. Kevin has been a light in the gospel community for many years. His stance, leadership and command over the choir was like none other. There are many things in life we may not understand, but we trust the sovereignty of God.”
